The Child Care Coordinating Council of the North Country is a multi-program agency serving families with infants, children and youth. Our mission is to support and strengthen families and childcare professionals who endeavor to raise healthy, educated children. We provide this support with creative and dynamic programs, services and resources. All our services are free. We serve families with children from infancy to young adulthood.
Our Family Resource Centers programs serve all families:
Early childhood Parent/Child Developmental Playgroups for families with children infant through age 5.
Parent Support Groups are open to anyone playing a parenting role of any kind. Support groups are offered at both day and evening times every week. These open parent support groups are accompanied by a Children’s Program that provides an interactive social group for the children while their parents are in the Parent Support Group. The Children’s Program welcomes all children and provides individualized support as necessary to help children participate successfully in the group.
Parenting Education/Enrichment classes are offered in 12-week sessions of formal parenting education using the Incredible Years® and the Nurturing Parenting ® curriculum. These series start three times in each calendar year.
We have additional programs that serve specific groups of families:
Families with Children with Disabilities: The Special Education Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Center serves families with children with disabilities. We offer a variety of supports and training to families. These include individual consultation about the Special Education process and collaborating with your school, requesting special education services, IEP review, meeting preparation, rights and regulations, referral services and group workshops and training for parents.
Post-Adoptive and Kinship Caregiver Families: The Permanency Resource Center (PRC) offers a range of services to this unique group of families. The services include family socials, half day respite and program-only parent support groups.
