Community Hospital inpatient psychiatric units for children/adolescents aged 6-18. All bedrooms are private with shared bathroom facilities.
Child/Adolescent inpatient program is educationally based and thus all children/adolescents must be enrolled in school. We treat a variety of psychiatric conditions including: major depression, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, PTSD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, schizophrenia and others.
Scope of Services: To provide comprehensive, short term evaluation and treatment for children/adolescents with DSM diagnosis who are experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms and are at risk of immediate harm to self or others.
Services Provided: Services are provided using holistic interdisciplinary team approach. Patients are provided with care by psychiatrists, RN’s, MHT’s, social workers and mental health counselors.
Each patient will receive family, individual and group treatment
Education for family and patient on diagnosis, treatment, including education on medications provided/recommended
Detailed discharge planning
**Due to state regulations all referrals/admissions from Vermont will need to be voluntary. Parent/Guardian will need to be willing to travel to participation in the admission process and family/discharge meetings for children and adolescents**
